Re: Problem with shown channels

After lots of (rather desperate and quite random) attempts at reinstalling TVBrowser,Java and deactivating and reactivating Norton Antivirus and my Windows firewall and also removing one version of the TVBrowser and rearranging it into another folder ,two days ago the Swedish channels from both mspn.no and swebd.se appeared, yesterday without TV guide contents, but today also with the programmes in the guide. Everything ok now -a wonder has happened (??!!). Thanks for all good suggestions in the forum from a very satisfied user !!

This is where you installed TVB. It should be "C:\programs\TV-Browser" or something like that.

It's not so simple to provide TV data, and the channels are already available via Swedb. The problems you have are not common. Maybe you have an old firewall software that you thought to have uninstalled but that is still active.

Where / how do I find my "TVBrowser install directory" ?
I have tried a lot: I have removed Java from my computer and reinstalled it. Besides I have deactivated my Norton Antivirus and my Windows firewall , but still : No Swedish channels nor Sweden to be found among the available countries. I see that you are responsible for providing Norwegian channels -I plead you to add the Canal Plus Sport and Canal Plus Film channels that are to be found in Norwegian programme guides, also it would be nice to have SVt1 and SVT2 and TV4 Sweden and Viasat Fotball and Viasat Sport from the same sources. Even if I haven't found what I was looking for (www.swedb.se ) I am very grateful for your willingness to help -really admirable !!!
I can ,of course , use Norwegian or Swedish TV guides, but the TVBrowser surpasses all I have seen so far, so keep up the good work !

RTL, Sat1 and other privates have no descriptions for licence reasons. I don't know if Norton controls internet traffic. If you find any such programs, you have to give java.exe free access.

To activate logging: Edit the file "windows.properties" in your TVB install directory: remove the "#"' from the entry "logdirectory" and add the directory where you want the log to be stored.

Most channels are shown in a fine way except SAt1,RTL,DSF (for some licence reasons ?)and the Swedish ones -no problems with the Norwegians and British and most German ones.I use Norton Antivirus ,perhaps this might be part of the problem ?

Are there any channels displayed correctly? You likely have a program installed that prevents Java (and thus TV-Browser) from accessing the internet (maybe antivirus software).

I have reinstalled the TVBrowser . No Australian channels in the list. Had the Swedish channels from mspn.no for some minutes but they suddenly disappeared again(they didn't contain any information at all about TV programmes) -still nothing from swebd.se.Also some problems with some German channels (e.g. Das Erste and ZDF) but found them after having downloaded a German plugin. I tried your website address , but simply don't understand what to do about the "directory" things.Simply still at a loss what to do.Impressed with your will to help though.

Do you have Australian channels displayed in the list? You could activate the logging ( http://enwiki.tvbrowser.org/index.php/Activate_Logging ) and then try to reload the channellist in the settings and look if something is logged.

(P.S. It has nothing to do with the wrong link swdb.sw

I have version 2.7.5 of the TV Browser and a windows xp home edition version 5.1 firewall - I will try to remove the firewall temporarily and then ,perhaps , reinstall the Browser later, and give you a report on that. Thanks a lot for your patient assistance so far.PS: I removed the firewall: no effects/changes.

Which version of TV-Browser and of the DataHydra-Plugin do you have? Do you have a firewall installed? When I try the link on the settings page I get http://tv.swedb.se/. DataHydra works for me. So there must be something wrong with your installation or your firewall.

Thanks for a very quick answer -I appreciate that. I have tried all the things you mentioned: No Swedish channels in my "Settings - Channels", "Sweden" is not shown in the list of availabole countries, I have updated both channels and plugins several times.
With regards to the wrong site address I told you about: See "Settings" , then the folder "TV-Data Plugins", then "DataHydra", and on this page: "The plugin loads data from different sources" ,then press the underlined bullet point "SweDB", then the wrong address www.swedb.sw pops up and you can't find the proper site (which is www.swedb.se ).Does this mean that the plugin with the Swedish channels doesn't work or what ?

So still I don't know what to do to get the Swedish channels. Would a reinstallation of the TVBrowser help (also some difficulties with other plugins when I installed the browser, so I would not be happy about reinstalling the whole thing) ??

In general the swedish channels are available (e.g, SVT1, 2, TV4) and I can't find an url swedb.sw. So you can't find swedish channels at Settings - Channels (Einstellungen_-_Sender)? Do you see "Sweden" in the country list above the channel list? Did you try to press the button "update channellist" (or something like that)?

Hello
First: My compliments for a great site -TV-Browser is really excellent ! I have one problem though: I cannot find the Swedish channels at all. The DataHydra plugin should give me the Swedish channels, but something is wrong there (I can see when I check the DataHydra plugin that the swedb webadress is wrong - it should be www.swedb.se and not www.swedb.sw as you have in your plugin info - could this be of importance. I have registered and found all the Swedish TV channels from Sweden on the site www.swedb.se. I am a Norwegian and would vwery much like to have the TV-guide from Sweden since we can watch most of their programmes on Norwegian cable TV.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions/assistance. Thanks in advance.

Independent of your firewall issues you should update to 2.7.5 as some major problems have been fixed since 2.7.1.
