Maybe you didn't install a data plugin? If so, go to Extras -> Install/update plugins and choose one of them (e.g. Radiotimes for British channels).

please where is that option - I don't see it under 3.1 version
I had configured version 2.7.5 than updated to 3.1 and now I have no channels/groups

exactly, that feature was not used by many users and therefore completely buggy until now. :)

Forget this , I have just downloaded v3 rc2 and see there is a edit channel group option.

How do you edit and/or remove channel groups , I keep coming back to add remove channels within settings ?.
