In the next Version of TV-Browser we added a new field for ratings. The ratings will move to another line and will not mix with the description anymore

Apparently the data from RadioTimes does not contain ratings for the next couple of days.
There are ratings for films from January 11 and subsequent days.

von bodo » 06 Jan 2008, 18:25

My guess would be that radiotimes removed the ratings from the feed again :(

von colin1951uk » 06 Jan 2008, 18:16

The ratings have suddenly vanished from my display :? ..I'm still using version 2.6.2 so has something been changed since yesterday which has made this happen?

Wow! That was quick. Thank you very much.

I changed the position in the SVN. The next Version will move it to the beginning of the short description

von Mr Bun » 05 Jan 2008, 09:44

Great job! Many thanks!

It would, IMHO, be even better if you were to insert the rating at the beginning of the (short) description.

eg:

Code: Alles auswählen

Fantastic Voyage
20:05-22:00 - Film - 1966 -
[****/5] Shrunken doctors in a mini-sub journeying through the body of a dying Czech scientist to perform interior brain surgery provide the plot for this wonderfully ludicrous 1960s classic...
That way, one could see the rating directly in the Program Table and not just in the Program Details.

Yes I only just spotted the ratings are there now...just the job for me...thanks ever so much 'bawbagg' for your help on this one :D

Cheers...Colin

Thanks very much for providing access to the Radio Times Rating information, I find this very useful to help spot films worth watching.

Thanks,

Spoke too soon..... seems that the RT staff are now back from Xmas holidays and fixed everything just after I posted the previous message. Even the film ratings are back :).

Normal service has been resumed :).

The feed with the data that is accessed by TVB (and other software) resides at xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv.

The rest of the RadioTimes site is fine - with listings as normal. However, whatever scripts they use to generate the files that we access have died some time ago - and as a result RadioTimes data is now inaccessible by any 3rd party applications.

When you say the feed dries up what does that mean then??...does the Radio Times site go ga ga?

I just checked it and they have listings available up to the 14th January.

I dunno where they're feed is coming from but I assume the RT Plugin gets it's data from the same feed so why would it dry up as it has on January 1st and the web site hasn't?

Could it just be RT don't want people like us using their data and have cut it off..copyrights and all that stuff.

Happy New Year to the community here :)

Unfortunately the feed from RadioTimes dries up on 31st December.

They are (apparently) aware of the problem.

TVBrowser 2.6.2 contains the enhanced RadioTimes-Plugin.
